Service Technician – Birmingham
Jerry Pate Turf & Irrigation is the leading Commercial Golf & Grounds equipment Distributor in the Southeast. We are seeking a Service Technician for our Birmingham, AL Branch. This position performs troubleshooting, diagnostics, evaluations, repairs, set up and maintenance on commercial turf equipment. This includes gas diesel engines, hydraulic systems, drivelines, electrical systems, and cutting units. This position contributes to customer satisfaction by fixing equipment right the first time and meeting repair promise dates.
Preferred Competencies, Qualifications, and Skills:

2-4 years mechanical experience in:

Golf Courses
-
Commercial Turf
-
Agricultural; OR
-
Heavy Equipment
-
-
Ability to problem solve with a sense of urgency

Effectively communicate (verbal and written)

Attention to detail

Excellent time management
-
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks

Proficient in use of tools, diagnostics, and troubleshooting
Requirements:

Must own basic tools
-
Must be able to meet physical requirements of the position, including, but not limited to, standing for an entire shift, lifting up to 75lbs, bending, stooping, and moving equipment.

Travel – some overnight as required

Highschool diploma or GED equivalent
